Ross Sweet Six BMR Drystalk
This hybrid is very quick growing, dry stalk and high yielding — trial data indicates yields that beat what some refer to as the standard conventional hybrid. Sweet Six has been at the top 5% of several years of yield trials across the US. The higher leaf to stem ratio ensures a quality of grazing or feed that cattle prefer. Digestibility of this hybrid is increased by 20% due to the reduction in lignin. This reduction of lignin improves the digestibility of fiber. Sweet Six has shown tremendous scores for NDFD, TDN and IVTD. Including yield and harvestability that exceeds the competition’s BMRs and conventional hybrids. With the dry stalk trait, harvest delays related to drying can be avoided. This hybrid is best utilized for 1-3 cuttings or rotational grazing. This hybrid is more economical to plant and has better early season vigor. The root system is 30% greater than many hybrids that we’ve analyzed. Which makes it a good option to grow as a forage or a cover crop option seeded in late July.
